Science
is the accumulation of
knowledge that enables us to understand all the material and facts contained in
the universe, and science answers many of the questions that result from our
observation of the world around us. Acceptable scientific facts are reliable
because they are rigorously tested for validity and are revised when new
evidence or views emerge to ensure greater accuracy. But what if science didn't
exist?
Without
science, the world would not reach that stage. Because of science, we have the
technology, buildings, bridges, structures, and transportation. However,
knowledge is the most important thing we would not have if science did not
exist. It’s the most important thing in our lives. We could not do simple
things like washing dishes and turn on a computer. We would not have invented
cars, trucks or other vehicles without science. Assuming that the world exists
but that we have never studied science, we would still live in the dark era,
because even the simplest discoveries we take for granted - the wheel for
example - could not have been made.
Thanks
to the contribution of science, human beings now live more than a day thanks to
new inventions of drugs and treatments. Even doctors can transplant vital
organs such as the heart, kidneys, eyes, etc. because of the invention of
science. Science has brought modern civilization to this stage where we are
today.
Finally,
as long as a mind tries to understand its environment, there is always a
science. The only way science would not exist is in a world where there are no
life forms with a reasoning mind.
